About
How I work
Technical Lead — Enterprise APIs & Guest Experience Platforms
Technical Lead and full-stack engineer building enterprise platforms at Disney scale. Embedded with The Walt Disney Company since 2021, working directly with Disney executives and technology managers across API, payments and dining & activity booking systems.
Most of that time has been spent embedded with a single client rather than moving between them. Staying five years on one engagement means the problems get harder over time: the first year is building things, the later years are owning the consequences of them.
The progression from front-end developer to Technical Lead was not a single track. It includes a CTO stint at an online shop and a part-time teaching role, both of which ran alongside full-time engineering work. Those years are visible on the timeline rather than tidied away, because breadth is part of the story.
The engagement model
One employer, one client
This structure is worth stating directly, because it reads as something else at a glance.
Employer
Myridius
formerly RCG Global Services
The consultancy that employs me. It was called RCG Global Services and was later renamed, which is why older records show a different company name for the same work.
Client
The Walt Disney Company
Parks, Resorts & Cruise Line — Dining, Activities & Reservations
Works directly with Disney executives and technology managers. The client title track on the timeline reflects the role as Disney recorded it.
Working principles
What I optimise for
Four things that shape how I run an engagement.
Own the deliverable, not the ticket
A queue of merged pull requests is not the same as something that works for the people using it. I care about the outcome the work was meant to produce.
Make the rules legible
Composite eligibility and promotion logic is easy to write and hard to trust. I keep decision rules explicit so the people who own the policy can still read them.
Say what is not known
Estimates, risks and unknowns get stated plainly and early. Reporting a comfortable number that turns out to be wrong costs more than admitting the uncertainty up front.
Translate between the room and the code
Working directly with executives means turning technical trade-offs into decisions they can make, and turning their constraints back into work the team can plan.
The arc
Front-end developer to Technical Lead
The progression matters more than any single title. Two of these roles ran concurrently, which is why the years below overlap in places.
